Waxleaf Waxleaf ligustrum is an exceptional evergreen with lustrous dark green leaves, gray bark and creamy white flowers in spring. It can grow quite large and makes a nice specimen plant, screen plant or hedge. We prune the lower trunks and clear away the foliage to give it a more regal look. The foliage is sheared to a dense upright oval. 10 to 12 feet high at maturity with a width of 6 to 8 feet.
