Recurve Recurve ligustrum has a small glossy dark green leaf with a wavy leaf margin. It tends to be more upright than waxleaf ligustrum and grows slower with a more compact structure. We clear the trunks to allow a showy, almost sculptured, appearance and shape the head into a dense oval. Recurve ligustrum can be used as a hedge, foundation plant, screen plant or even in containers. It is loaded with creamy white flowers in spring and it has smooth gray bark. 10 to 12 feet high at maturity.
