Lagerstroemia indica
Natchez' Crapemyrtle
The predominant white crape myrtle cultivar, 'Natchez' is a fauriei cross developed by Dr. Egolf. It is broad, vase-shaped with a white bloom and cinnamon exfoliating bark. The flower period is one of the longest of all crape myrtles and the fall foliage is an awesome orange to red. 'Natchez' loves full sun and is very resistant to powdery mildew. A fast grower, 'Natchez' has a high drought tolerance and has many uses. We grow it with 4 to 5 straight trunks that makes it ideal for specimen plantings.

Lagerstroemia indica
Tuscarora' Crapemyrtle
'Tuscarora' is a fauriei cross with a dark, coral pink bloom. It is more upright than 'Natchez' and a slower grower, but is often planted in conjunction with 'Natchez' for a contrasting bloom color. It has a moderately showy exfoliating bark and nice orange to red fall leaf color. Stockhaven grows this selection with 3-5 trunks. It makes a nice accent tree and likes full sun for best growth and bloom.

Lagerstroemia indica
Dynamite' Crapemyrtle
'Dynamite' is one of the newer crape myrtles developed by Dr. Carl Whitcomb. It has crimson buds that open to cherry red flowers. The bark exfoliates to a tan or gray. It is not as large as the fauriei crosses but makes a nice manageable broad, vase-shaped tree. It is grown multi-trunked and is slow to moderate in growth. 'Dynamite' does better in zones 6 and 7 and does not withstand heat as well as other crape myrtles. Still, it is a good choice for color.

Lagerstroemia indica
Tonto' Crapemyrtle
'Tonto' is a great small crape myrtle with cream to gray-brown exfoliating bark. The blooms are fuchsia to maroon in color and the tree remains small. It is useful where a manageable size is necessary and we grow it as a multi-trunked specimen. It tends to be broader than other varieties.

Raspberry Sundae' Crapemyrtle
Another Whitcomb introduction, 'Raspberry Sundae' has a pink bloom with white highlights reminding one of 'Peppermint Lace'. It is an upright grower with few spreading side branches. New leaves emerge crimson turning to a dark green. The fall color is a uniform bright orange color. One of our favorite smaller crape myrtles.
