Betula nigra
'Fox Valley' Dwarf River Birch
Introduced by Jim King of Oswego, IL, this dwarf birch has a dense, compact, oval-rounded growth habit. It has a glossy medium green foliage and exfoliating bark like the species. As wide as it is tall, it is a great alternative to hollies where a winter screen is not necessary.
