Loquat Loquat is a small evergreen tree or a broad-spreading shrub. We grow it as a single-stem tree with 4-5' of clear trunk. Loquat has edible fruit with a fragrant off-white flower. Leaves are dark green with a brownish tomentum underneath. It prefers well-drained loamy soil but will withstand alkaline soil and drought. An exceptional choice for its evergreen foliage. 15 to 25 feet high and 15 to 25 feet wide at maturity.
